Summer, YSL style

1 min read

I really do have an obsession with the sun at the moment – down to the lack of it. I’ve not been on a beach holiday since 2008, so you can understand whenever I see a swimming pool/beach/tropical location on TV, in a magazine, on the internet, or wherever, I am transported into my dreams of being there.

So, when I saw the campaign image for the new YSL collection, I was off on one – oh to be in a fabulous swimsuit, hanging out by a pool in a hot, exotic location. Of course in reality I look ridiculous after an hour at the swimming pool, not really being built for the heat. Maybe dreaming is best after all?!

That won’t stop me recreating this look with the wonderful new products created by YSL’s Creative Director, Makeup, Lloyd Simmonds. Choose from three gorgeous shades of the collection’s Terre Saharienne bronzer (£39) to give you that holiday glow. This python skin embossed powder is three-tonal, perfect for a hint of a lot of sunkissed colour!

Have fun with your eyes, using one of three new Pure Chromatics eyeshadow quads (£39), and make sure you try the gorgeous gold and blue Eyeliner Pencils (£19) and matching Waterproof Mascaras (£23). Stunning shades. There are four Golden Glosses (£22) for the lips, all with sparkle, but I am really in love with the four shades of Rouge Pur Couture (£23.50), from nude, to bronze, plum to red.  Oh and not forgetting four lovely Nail Polish (£18) shades in metallics, coral reds and nudes.
