MAC and Beth Ditto

2 min read

M.A.C do all sorts of collaborations – I think the last one I blogged about was either The Muppets, or 90-year-old fashion icon, Iris Apfel. But this one is one of my favourite for a long time.

The amazing Beth Ditto. I’d love to have been at the Berlin media launch this week. in the M.A.C store on Rosenthalerstrass, and the evening event which took place at MADE – a multi-use venue about creativity and working with a diverse group of performers and artists.

For the evening party close to 400 guests attended from the a-list and cool Berlin scene. Actresses Heike Makatsch and Carolina Vera – electro-punk singer Peaches – hip hop artist Michi Beck – presenters Tyron Ricketts and Jasmin Great and local designers Mongrels in Common and Patrick Mohr were all there to see Beth take to the stage twice.

She performed her latest tracks including I Wrote the Book, Move in the Right Direction as well as a rendition of Madonna’s Vogue, bringing on-stage one of Lady Gaga’s tour dancers, who was a guest of the event. The Gossip DJ Nathan delivered a set throughout the night.

As for the collection – if you like cool, bold, bright pop art shades, then this is for you! There are loads of items in the collection, but let’s focus on the amazing Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Dear Diary (£16.50), a bright neon pink; the gorgeous light yellow Near Beth Experience and mid-tone lavender Vagabondage  Nail Lacquers (£9 each), and the brilliant M.A.C Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner duos in Beth Or Glory and Beth Mask – two really wearable duos.

I also absolutely love the Limited Powder To The People polka dot compact (£21.50). How fabulous is that?! Not sure I would ever use it though.

The collection is available now, at freestanding M.A.C stores worldwide, and maccosmetics.co.uk
