Gold Nail Art is a winner!

Never mind diamonds, I think after the Jubilee, we’ve had more than enough of those! I’m having a gold moment right now. The Olympics are on their way, and everyone knows gold is the best! What’s better with a bit of a tan then gorgeous gold, and I’ve been trying out a couple of different nail polishes with a fab effect.

First up, it’s Filthy Gorgeous London’s new Fishnet Magnetic Nail Polish in Gold Digger (£12, selected Debenhams, filthygorgeouslondon.co.uk). I remember when the magnetic nail craze started, I wondered if they’d ever bring out another design – the swirls could get boring after a while. And of course, they did. Fishnet. As you can see from my image, it’s not the most stand-out design ever, but it does sort of look like a certain designer handbag which I won’t mention, because I don’t want to get sued. It has that 3D padded effect. Remember when using magnetic polish, apply to one nail, and then use the magnet, because it won’t work if the polish dries at all.

My other got-to-get gold this week is from the Boots No7 Summer of Dreams Collection, which I blogged about at length on here the other week. The Glitter Top Coat (£8, boots.com)  is brilliant! It has small and large discs and glitter, and I loved the random effect two coats created, what do you think? One coat was nice, two coats even better, and I just did this on a bare nail, for a subtle effect. I think it will look brilliant over red or bright pink or blue.

So, get a bit of bling on your nails in the form of some gold polish! Any other favourites out there?
