After the sun...After Sun

1 min read

I was amazed to read some of my friends status updates on Facebook telling of their sunburn after our recent hot spell. Tut tut. Going out in the sun for prolonged periods without sun protection is insane. Particularly if you are a pale-skinned Scot. I was guilty in my teens and 20s, but come on people, there is much more awareness these days, and you should know better!

Okay, that’s my lecture over! If you have fallen victim to sunburn, then you will need a good after sun cream. Make sure it is moisturising, as well as cooling, and pop it in the fridge if you are really hot, the cold sensation will shock but it is lovely! Try Melvita ProSun After Sun Body Milk (£16), which is rich and creamy, and helps to revitalise the skin and prevent the skin ageing caused by sun exposure. Remember, the sun doesn’t just burn, it ages you too.

This is full of gorgeous natural ingredients to help your burn. Cupuaçu butter, combined with the highly invigorating Chilean Musk Rose and Coconutoils make the skin more supple. The remarkable repairing properties of Rocou oil and Tepezcohuite extract help to soothe and revitalise skin that has been damaged by sun and salt. An active moisturising agent extracted from Fig mucilage provides a pleasant feeling of freshness and hydration.

It smells gorgeous; has a vanilla scent. Even if you aren’t burned, make sure you use some form of body moisturiser, or after sun after a day in the sun! Now let’s hope this morning’s clouds clear again!

Melvita ProSun After Sun Body Milk (£16) available at the new Wholefoods store in Giffnock,  some John Lewis stores, and from melvita.co.uk
