Unwrapping a secret from Clinique...

1 min read

Unless you shop in Harrods, or are a massive Clinique fan, chances are you won’t have a clue about their secret scent, Wrappings. I had no idea it existed until recently when it was finally made available nationwide – well, sort of. It’s still very much a cult item, and can now only be bought in Harrods, Fenwick, Newcastle, and Fraser’s, Glasgow – as well as online -although it does seem to suggest that that might be for a limited period only.

The key to the fragrance is in the name – it was originally designed to envelop the wearer, ‘wrap’ them if you like in an ‘aura of warmth that lasts’. It has an uncommon character which defies traditional fragrance categories. It really is a unique scent – a blend of  green herbs such as basil, sage Artemisia; with white flowers-jasmine, lily of the valley and hyacinth; underscored by woody elements: cypress, vetiver and oakmoss. All of these are lifted by a touch of sea-breeze!

It is light, clean and fresh and it lasts! Unlike many modern light fragrances, or splashes that disappear pretty quickly, this clings to skin and clothes, long after contact. However, it’s not overpowering.

I’d go as far as saying it’s one of my favourite fragrances of the moment. Go and unwrap it now!

Clinique Wrappings, £40 for 25ml, clinique.co.uk, Harrods, Frasers, Glasgow and Fenwick, Newcastle.
