Human Fundamentalism ... in makeup

Illamasqua. Now there’s a makeup brand with a difference. From the brilliant brain of exceptional makeup artist Alex Box and her team, comes another fantastic collection from the British brand.

‘Human Fundamentalism’, according to Ms Box is ‘the unique spirit and fundamental human drive for individuality’.

This collection will certainly help you achieve that. I adore the pale lilac eyeshadow, achingly red lipstick and bright purple nails that I tried at the weekend. What do you think?

The collection has seven key products  including brilliant Powder Eye Shadows (£15) in Cancan (the lilac purple I am wearing), Vernau (a yellow ochre), Pivot (a yellow green), Burst (a blue green), Obsidian (a rich black) and Sex (a pure white). All of them high in pigment and brilliantly blend-able.

There is a fabulous Sealing Gel (£10.50) which turns any powder product into colour-intense, water-resistant paste, perfect for creating stripes, intricate lines, or little patterns of pigment!

There are two Palettes (£30); the Fundamental Palette has bold colours – glistening Liquid Metal in molten pewter, to matte Cream Pigment in mint green, along with two vibrant eyeshadows. The Neutral Palette will help create sculpted highlights and stark contours anywhere on your face and boy with four Powder Shadows.

The brilliant Precision Ink (£17) liquid liner comes in a new pure white Scribe shade, and the Nail Varnish (£13.50) is in Stance (the bright purple I am sporting) and Nomad ( a bright jade green).

The Lipstick (£15.50) I’m wearing is Box, the deepest of bright reds I’ve seen in a while, and beautifully matte. The other new lip colour is Apocalips – a bright green teal shade for the very brave and creative!

The amazing Skin Base Foundation (£25) comes in a new, Limited Edition, shade, called Au – this is the chemical symbol for gold, and the foundation contains tiny flecks of metallic shimmer! Amazing.
