Brightening up with Bobbi Brown...

‘Brightening’ is the latest beauty buzzword. All about giving your skin that healthy glow. Origins released their new Mega-Bright serum last week, and Creme de la Mer follow soon with their new ‘Blanc de la Mer’ range – more on that next week.

Those are skincare products, but it’s seeped over into makeup as well, with Bobbi Brown’s new Brightening Nudes collection. Her tag-line is ‘Glow From Within‘ and her collection of four new products (three of which are limited) is all about creating glowing skin, sparkling eyes and lush lips. Look at the campaign image – how beautiful does the model look?!

To help get this sheer, luminous, healthy glow, are the four products.

First up is the Brightening Finishing Powder (£40), which will be a permanent addition to the Bobbi Brown counter. It features six luminous shades that blend together and illuminate the skin.

You can apply it to cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. It’s been formulated with Mulberry, Grape, Scutelleria and Gentian Root Extracts, so it’s also good for the skin!

On the eyes, use a simple wash of one of the four shades of the new, Limited Edition  Sparkle Eye Shadow (£19.50) – Silver Moon, Mica, Ballet and Sunlight. Bobbi eyeshadows are worth investing in. Great pigment, gorgeous consistency. These have a featherweight formula and really light up the eyes with their combination of shimmering pearls and glitter in a translucent base.

For the lips, there are two Limited Edition products – Brightening Lip Gloss (£17) which comes in three shades – Lilac Pearl, Pink Opal, Pink Lilac and Crystal Glitter Lip Gloss (£16). The former leave lips looking really pearlescent and can be used alone or on your favourite lipstick. The latter is an updated version of a perennial Bobbi favourite. The clear, high-shine, formula instantly enhances lips, and it has that wee bit of sparkle!
