Oscar tans!

Well, it was all the glamour of the Oscars for me last night, as I lay on the sofa in myPJ’s drinking strong coffee to keep me up until the end of the show at 5am! So, please, bear with me today….!

Of course the red carpet fashion and beauty is as big a part of the occasion as the actual awards, and there were plenty gorgeous gowns to get excited about. Like everyone else, I adored Michelle Williams in her coral red Louis Vuitton ruffled peplum gown, with a contrasting pink clutch. She’s so cute!

But my favourite red dress of the night had to be Emma Stone’s Giambattista Valli number with the big bow! Her skin looked luminous, and guess what?! She’d been St Tropez’d! Okay, well not actually fake tanned, but she was was wearing St.Tropez Skin Illuminator in Rose (£12.25) on her arms, shoulders and collar bones. Expert Rachel Goodwin gave her the ‘Pastel Tan’, saying: “I used the Illuminator to complement her pale skin tone with her bold dress. I used it to add a pink undertone and create a beautiful glow.”

Gorgeous Gwyneth Paltrow who wore a white Tom Ford gown and cape (which was beautiful, if not a little sci-fi, perhaps!) was given a ‘Luxe Tan’ by Leslie Lopez. “To enhance Gwyneth’s glamorous Oscar look I used the Gold Skin Illuminator, one of my favourite St Tropez products. I created a natural glow by applying it to her cheek bones, brow bone and collarbone.”

Penelope Cruz, in Giorgio Armani, sported the ‘Contemporary Tan’, thanks to Matthew Van Leeuwen. “I wanted to give Penelope a nice, subtle glow, so I combined an equal amount of St.Tropez Intant Glow Wash Off Body Lotion (£12.25) with the Rose Skin Illuminator and applied it all over her upper body. Then I dusted the St.Tropez Bronzing Rocks (£12.25) all over her shoulders, back and decolletage to finish it off.”

Who was your favourite of the night? And the worst? I wasn’t hugely keen on Angelina Jolie, in Versace and her insane leg posing on the red carpet and  when she presented an award. Her makeup was beautiful, but wow, she’s thin.
