I want Candy (from YSL)

2 min read

When I first saw YSL’s Spring 2012 collection, Candy Face, it was back in the dark days of winter, and I’ve hardly wanted to look at it again, despite it being on counter since Boxing Day.

But today, I feel different – it’s nearly the end of January, it’s a gorgeous sunny morning, and YSL’s beautiful candy-inspired palette is perfect for my mood! And yours I hope! The collection, by the very lovely Creative Director Makeup, Lloyd Simmonds, has quite and 80s feel to it, with it’s bold, bright colour palette, and it’s screams spring!

The Star product is the Vinyl Candy Palette (£39), a gorgeous pink lacquered palette which houses four beautiful candy-coloured shades, two pearly and two satin. You can create bright smokey eyes, or use them as a simple wash of colour. The Ombres 5 Lumieres No13 (£39.50) is exclusive to House of Fraser, and contains five fabulously bold shades  from pale aquas and greens to bold blue and citrus yellow. Choose from two new Golden Gloss (£22) shades of bright bold pink, or pale golden coral, and two gorgeous new Rouge Volupte Perle Lipsticks (£23.50) in Sparkling Fuchsia and Milky Pink.

I spoke about the new Voile De Blush (£28) Jelly blushers on this blog the other week; there are three lovely shades to choose from. Water-based, the gel blush format ‘plumps’ the cheeks on application.  There are four new shades of Volupte Sheer Candy Lipstick (£23.50) to choose from – Sweet Fig, Iced Plum, Cool Guava and Tangy Mandarin. All of them offer a sheer wash of colour for spring lips – and they smell amazing! There are two Nail Polish Duos (£28) to collect – the one pictured is beautiful fresh orange and pink, and the other is a fresh pistachio mint and dark green combination, only available at selected stores, House of Fraser Glasgow being one of them!

Buy the new collection now at yslbeauty.co.uk, houseoffraser.co.uk and in store at YSL counters.
