Beauty News!

There’s always a lot going on in the beauty world at Christmas, so I thought I’d bring you a wee round-up of some beauty news to end the week.

*Last Friday I was lucky enough to attend a press breakfast with YSL’s fabulous Creative Director, Lloyd Simmonds, who showed a select bunch of beauty journalists the YSL Spring Collection, which is on counters on December 26th! I’ll bring you more on that next week, but for now, it’s called Candy Face and it is super-colourful, and super-sweet! A little taster of it is pictured above. He also gave us an extreme sneak preview of a new lip product, called a Glossy Stain, which will be out next February. And he hinted at a complete revamp in the summer next year of the YSL nail collection…exciting times!

*Last night I was invited to Edinburgh clinic, Face & Body, where the lovely owner, Dr Victoria Dobbie, and her team let us have a look at some of their most popular treatments. Customers and press marvelled at Cool-Sculpting, a new non-invasive way to zap stubborn body fat. It’s not cheap at around £800 for the stomach area. I think perhaps for now I’ll stick with sit-ups. Carol Smillie, who turns 50 next month, was there, looking fantastic, and free of the adult acne and rosacea that had bothered her in recent years,  thanks to a skincare plan devised for her by Victoria.

*Rimmel London have teamed up with The Saturdays to sponsor the girls All Fired Up tour which starts on the 2nd of December, for 13 dates. They hit Scotland on December 13, at the SECC in Glasgow. Rimmel will be present at all the gigs, and there will be joint competitions running as of mid November to win concert tickets, meet and greets with the band and goody bags containing all the products needed to ‘Get The Saturdays Look!’  Keep an eyes on The Saturdays official site, and the Rimmel London website for more details! What I can’t tell you is whether Frankie will be back for the tour or not…
