The Bare Escentuals...

2 min read

Back in May, you might remember I blogged on here about the bareMinerals Skincare range that launched, and their bizarre Pure Transformation Night Treatment, which was basically putting makeup ON before you went to bed.

Well, now they’ve added a few new products to their skincare line. Now, I think bareMinerals are one of those brands that you are either ‘with’ or aren’t. I have heard SO many diverse opinions from friends and readers, but all of them definite opinions – no-one really sits on the fence…so I will!

I can’t make my mind up about the mineral foundation if I am honest. When I had it applied in store once, it was unbelievably caked looking, and enhanced every line on my face. When I did it myself, it was better, but I still felt my skin slightly dry.

I have tried their skincare range, and it’s good. The latest additions include a Purely Nourishing Moisturizer for normal to dry skin (£27), which suited me quite well as a light day cream.  As for the two other new additions – the Blemish Remedy (£15) I can’t comment on, because I don’t really get spots, but if anyone does and wants to get in touch in the comments section below, I’d be happy to pass on a sample for them to try for me?

The Renew & Hydrate Eye Cream (£23) feels nice, but I haven’t tested it long enough to say whether it is any better or worse than any other eye creams I use.

However, I do love the story behind the RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex – the secret ingredient in this skincare. A farmer somewhere in the USA found his hands were in great condition after contact with soil in his fields, when they probably should have been a mess, and he took his findings to Bare Escentuals and well, the rest is history as they say!

To sum it up, if you are a fan, and let’s be honest, millions of women are, as this brand is HUGE in the USA, and growing massively in the UK as well, then you will love these new additions. If you’re not, they’ll probably pass you by.
