Illamasqua's Theatre...

Bobbi Brown, featured in today’s previous post, is probably the antithesis to Illamasqua, whose Theatre of the Nameless Autumn collection hit the counters last week.

With the crazy creative talents of makeup artist Alex Box behind it, Illamasqua is a brand, they say, for ‘your alter ego’. Their campaign images are amazing  – not that I think I’d be venturing out with any of the looks of a weekend.

But, the true beauty of the brand is that every single product is hugely wearable, excellent quality makeup – it’s just all about what you do with it.

Their Cream Pigments (£17) are a massive success – you can blend them onto eyes, cheeks, anywhere you like, and layer or not for as strong or subtle a colour as you wish. Androgen and Depravity are new shades for this season.

The Pure Pigment (£15.50) in Zeitgeist, Berber and Beguile is amazing – add a little to eyeshadow, eyebrows, cheeks- wherever you desire to create the effect you want.

This collection sees the launch of Nail Polish (£13.50) with a matt, rubber effect. I find it a bit odd – I love a shiny nail, but again, it’s innovative and stylish. It comes in four shades; Faux pas, Vice, Taint and Kink. The Lipstick shade Kontrol (£15.50) – a blue violet – looks terrifying at first, but on it’s actually more subtle and wearable.

And if you haven’t tried their Precision Ink (£17) – why not? It’s the best liquid eyeliner I’ve used in a long time. You can also use it wherever you want, to draw shapes on your face, temporary tattoos, whatever, it works. The new shade Havoc is a deep, deep berry, a gorgeous alternative to black.

Illamasqua is a brand of make up to play with, so get to your nearest counter and have a ball!
