Visionary Visionnaire!

Sometimes beauty products are a little bit scary – take this new Visionnaire (LR 2412) Advanced Skin Corrector from Lancome for instance. Hardly trips off the tongue does it?! I know Craig has been singing its praises in the Beauty Spot this week, and I’ve been trying it out as well.

This product claims to refine the texture of the skin, reduce wrinkle appearance, reduce pigmentation problems and tighten pores. Big claims, so how does it do it?!

Basically it contains a new beauty molecule – that’s the LR 2412 in case you hadn’t guessed! This molecule is as effective as retinoic acid but without any of the side effects. (Retinoic Acid helps cells to grow, but is know to cause irritation, skin rashes and the like – not what you want from a beauty product.)

The molecule is able to penetrate the dermis – the skin layer below the epidermis, which is the layer we all see – and therefore can act on a deeper level, from the inside out.

Sometimes when we read all the info on beauty product press releases it’s bamboozling to say the least. But what I homed in on here was the one quote from Professor Chris Griffiths, the Professor of Dermatology and Association Dean of Research at Manchester University, who trialled Visionnaire.

The data is clinically convincing, we were impressed with what we saw. We can also say that it is absolutely safe,” he said.

That data, saw 88% of women considering fillers, lasers or peels noticed a visible improvement to their skin with Visionnaire.

I’ve not used it long enough to notice a huge difference yet, but I am confident it will be a product finished rather than consigned to the back of the cupboard like so many!

Visionnaire (LR 4212) Advanced Skin Corrector, £57, launched exclusively to Frasers in Glasgow last week, and is available nationwide as of September.
