Look Radiant at all times

If there’s one compliment I loved recently was when a friend told me my skin was ‘positively glowing’. There’s nothing nicer than lovely friends…except lovely skin!

Lines, wrinkles, spots and blemishes are all concerns we might worry about, but one of the most common complaints is that our skin just looks, well, a wee bit dull. This can be down to lack of sleep, bad diet (and yes, that includes too much booze!), sun damage and hyperpigmentation.

Obviously having a facial, or microdermabrasion is a great way to revive dull skin, and there are plenty of offers here on 5pm Health and Beauty for those.

But for a DIY fix, there are two new product ranges on the market, I’d recommend. First up is REN’s Radiance and Renewal Range.

There are three new products – Express Radiance Miro Polish (£20), Resurfacing AHA Concentrate (£35) and Radiance Perfecting Serum (£35) – to complement their Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask (£30). REN’s philosophy is that exfoliation is key to radiant, healthy skin.

The idea is to start with the mask on day one of a seven-day plan, to prep the skin, and then to use the Resurfacing Concentrate at night, followed by the Serum, and to use the Serum every day under your moisturiser. You then continue to use the Mask and the Micro Polish every three to four days.

After seven days your skin will be resurfaced, radiant and re-energised. Over the next 14 days, you stop using the concentrate, but continue to use the rest. It’s a committed beauty routine, but if you want results, you’ve got to do the work!

The Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Range consists of five products – Brightening Cleanser (£20), Brightening Mist (£25), Brightening Essence (£48), Brightening Day Cream (£32) and Brightening Night Treatment (£35).

They all contain the VitaBrightKX complex which is made up of ingredients known for their potent skin brightening properties. They help to improve radiance and skin tone by fading skin discolourations and dark spots without using harsh chemicals like kojic acid and hydroquinone that can be found in brightening products.

This range is gorgeous to use, smells amazing, thanks to licorice root and kakadu plum, and is not so strict in its application. The Mist follows the Cleanser; the Essence next, and then the day or night cream.

I’ve suffered from hyperpigmentation on parts of my face thanks to childhood sun damage, and use of the contraceptive pill, and I can honestly say that after four weeks use, this range does make a difference.
