Christmas is Coming!
Christmas. There, I’ve said it. It is only four months away after all! 5pm Beauty Spot’s Craig Alexander Wilson and myself were fully immersed in the glitter and glitz of Christmas last month when we travelled down to London to attend the Boots Christmas Press Show.
Every new range and all the gifts that Boots are bringing out this festive season were on show. And we were lucky enough to have a chat with the gorgeous Gok Wan who has a new line for Boots this Christmas, to add to his original. Its called Purely Yours and is lighter than his original.
Dannii Minogue and Tabitha Somerset Webb are launching a Project D beauty range, Champneys have some fabulous gifts – and Craig and I were lucky enough to be treated to a hand massage from Champneys Spa therapists on the day.
But my absolute favourite range on show was the Hello Kitty/Liberty collaboration. I am a sucker for this little Japanese animated cat, and I was almost whooping with delight at the two beautiful fabric patterns 
incorporating my favourite cat. The range includes Cosmetic Brushes, Eye palettes, Makeup bags, Vanity Cases and more and prices are great, nothing more than £25.
Lisa Eldridge, Boots No7 Creative Consultant showed us her Midnight Enchantment Collection. “It was inspired by Tim Burton and his films,” she said. Craig and I loved it, and we know you will too. It’s perfect for the festive party season, with lots of glitter, purple, bold colours and her fabulous Limited Edition powder eyeliners are back in glittery versions.
“It was such a popular product that we had to reissue it,” said Lisa. “I was really pleased, as I love it as a product.”
Over at 17, with their Make-up artist Vanesa Guallar, we tried out the new highly pigmented eyeshadow palettes, and watch this space for some amazing news on the nail front from 17 – magnetic nail polish!
Don’t know about you but we can’t wait until Christmas now! Most of the new collections we saw hit the shelves in October, and we’ll bring you more news here on the blog as they do.
