Fake It!

2 min read

After years of fake tanning- and I mean years – I sort of gave up in my mid 30s and began to ’embrace the skin I’m in’. However, there comes a time when the sun comes out and this peely-wally Scots hue needs a wee bit of help. So, I started looking into gradual tanners – the body creams you apply every day and they add a wee bit of colour, gradually, to your skin.

Some of them seemed to make no difference at all, but then I was introduced to He-Shi Day to Day Gradual Tan (£14.50) which has been newly formulated and the DHA levels (the stuff that tans you) have been increased from 2 to 3%.

I had to give it a go, and I cannot believe the results. It is brilliant! After just two days, I had a definite, natural looking, hint of a tan. Nothing too much, but definitely a tan. The cream is rich in super moisturising ingredients like Aloe Vera and Castor Oil, and it really does rehydrate as well as add a gorgeous bit of colour.

It’s non-sticky, parabel and alcohol free and has a lovely strawberry scent. You can use it on your face and body, and it’s perfect if you are a bit nervous with fake tans.

Oh, and the clue is in the name – it’s for him and her, so you can give your partner a golden glow too!

Of course if you want someone else to tan you then you can take advantage of loads of fake tan offers here on 5pm Health & Beauty. Newly joined salon Eden Beauty, at Glasgow Caledonian University campus offer a Spray Tan and Lashes package for just £20.
