Colour Blocking with M&S

1 min read

If you’ve missed the colour-blocking trend in fashion this year so far, where have you been? If you aren’t wearing cobalt blue jeans with an acid orange top, then shame on you!

Colour-blocking certainly brightens up a Scottish summer, and you can extend the trend to your makeup with some fabulus pieces from Marks and Spencer of all places!

When you pop down for your lunch, pick up some bright and bold makeup – and all of it for under £10. The best place to go bold on your face is your mouth, with a gorgeous bright lipstick. M&S’s Candy  Lipstick (1. £3.25) is a gorgeous hot pink – perfect for all skintones.

Substituting your usual black eyeliner for a bright blue like M&S’s Cobalt Liquid Eyeliner (4. £3.50) is another easy way to add a shot of colour. You could also have some fun and add a cobalt blue line just above your usual black for an unusual twist.

Nails must be painted – try something on-trend like a yellow polish –  M&S’s Lemon (3. £3) fits the bill perfectly, or if you prefer a bright reddy-orange, Flame (5. £3) is fabulous for a big colour-pop.

And if you really want to add colour, then experiment with the fantastic Eye Palette in Lagoon (2. £6). It contains eight amazing shades – from bright yellows, to pinks and turquoises, with contrasting and complementing more muted tones. Just don’t use all of them at once!
