Bobbi Brown at the Scottish Fashion Awards

1 min read

All the chatter last week in Scotland was about the Scottish Fashion Awards, held for the sixth year running, sponsored by Vogue.com, and surely the most glamorous night on the calendar (after the 5pm Health and Beauty Awards of course!).

Dame Shirley Bassey was in attendance, along with Lulu and Prime Minister’s wife, Samantha Cameron. Jonathan Saunders won Designer of the Year, and photographer Rankin was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

But I was more interested in what was going on backstage in the makeup room, as the Bobbi Brown team transformed the models for the Swarovski Catwalk  show.

We asked Bobbi’s Head of Artistry, Paul Herrington, how he created the look, which saw the models come down the catwalk with flawless skin, bold eyes and muted lips.

The skin was velvet matt with a flawless finish lifted with desert pink blush on the cheek to add shape and a soft glow,” Paul said. “The eye was the focus point of the look with black gel liner used to create a dense black shadow on the lid and also used underneath the lash line as an eye liner.

The black gel liner was overlaid with deep purple and finished off with metallic lashes in peacock colours to give drama to the eyes. The look was finished off with a natural soft creamy lip colour to match the models lips.

If you want to have a go at getting this look, the the products you will need from Bobbi Brown are Foundation Stick (£27), Pressed Powder (£21), Blush in Desert Pink (£17), Long Wear Gel Liner in Black (£15.50), Eye Shadow in Eggplant (£15) and Creamy Lip Colour in Pink Buff (£18).

All products are available at Bobbi Brown counters and online.
