1970s glamour with Boots No7

The 1970s is a massive fashion trend this season (and no, we don’t mean flares and afro wigs!). We’re talking denim skirts, wedge heels, luxurious palazzo pants in silk fabrics, butter soft leathers, low cut blouses, long, luscious locks, and lots and lots of gloss! Think Jerry Hall, Marie Helvin and Bianca Jagger…

That’s exactly what No7 Creative Consultant Lisa Eldridge did when she created the latest No7 Limited Edition makeup collection which perfectly complements the catwalk trend.

“This 70s-inspired collection is homage to the drop-dead gorgeousness of Jerry Hall,” says Lisa. “The 70s were a great era for glossy, magnetic beauties like Bianca Jagger, Angelica Houston and Marie Helvin. Jerry really epitomises the look of the collection with alluring glossy red lips, golden bronze metallic eyes and shimmering tanned skin.

It was very glossy in the 70s...

“Definitely an evening look, this make-up collection is perfect for glitteringly glamorous sunset cocktails. Be ‘Very Jerry’ and channel your inner glamourpuss. I’m thinking party in Mustique with your rock god boyfriend!”

The collection consists of six items in total. The Sunset Metallic Eye Palette  (£13, www.boots.com) contains four richly pigmented bronzed metallic shades, which Lisa suggests applying with a damp brush or with fingers to ‘make the metallic sheen really pop’. The Sultry Glow Bronzer (£13) is almost too pretty to use! It’s a three-toned palette, and the three shades have been chosen, says Lisa, “to give the most natural looking tan possible”. There are two Lipglosses in Sultry Red and Sultry Nude (£10 each) “To be ‘Very Jerry’ you need a glossy red lip – end of!” says Lisa. She suggests using a red lipstick under the gloss for an intense evening look. There are also two Stay Perfect Nail Polishes in Sultry Sands and Golden Palms (£7 each), but we think Jerry would prefer a bold red nail as well, don’t you?!
